SeaDek Attends the 2018 Restore Gala Benefitting Captains for Clean Water

On March 9, 2018, the SeaDek team was proud to join over 400 captains, marine industry leaders, realtors, and concerned Florida residents in Ft. Myers for the 2nd annual Captains for Clean Water Restore Gala.

Taking place on the picturesque banks of the Caloosahatchee River—one of waterways severely impacted by devastating Lake Okeechobee discharges—the evening began with cocktails as the sun sank into the Gulf of Mexico, a delectable southern supper, and compelling speeches by the leaders that are driving the charge for solutions to Florida’s water crisis.

Among the speakers was SeaDek’s own VP of Sales, Chuck Yates. Alluding to his childhood fishing in the Florida Keys, and the currently deplorable state of the water where he fishes with his son in East Central Florida, he implored the audience to take action so that future generations may have the opportunity to experience Florida’s aquatic ecosystems as they once were.

As the night progressed C.A. Richardson of Flats Class TV led the call for pledges, and the microphone was passed around the tent as people explained why this cause was so important to them and made contributions to aid in the ongoing fight for the implementation of a solution to change the tide of Florida’s water management policies.

SeaDek was proud to make a $10,000 contribution at the end of the night, reaffirming their commitment to Captain’s for Clean Water as a Legacy Partner, and solidifying their devotion to the health and restoration of Florida’s waterways.

Thank you to everyone who participated in his great event! Captains for Clean Water was able to raise over $200,000, which will be used towards educating the public and bringing awareness to Everglades restoration.

We are all Captains! Take the next step and join the fight for clean water!
