Response to Captain Artie Price Tarpon Incident

Some of you may be aware of a recent video of two anglers allegedly feeding a live tarpon to a group of sharks.  This was our response on social media and we would like to share it here as well:

This disturbing incident has just been brought to our attention, and I would like to speak for everyone here at Seadek when I say that we are unequivocally disgusted by the actions in this video depicting a tarpon being intentionally fed to sharks.

We take great pride in being good stewards of our environment, waterways, and wildlife, and we in no way condone any illegal or unethical fishing practices under any circumstances.

SeaDek has provided Captain Price with SeaDek products, but there are no contractual agreements between us. Any professional relationship with, or endorsement of, Captain Artie Price by SeaDek Marine Products will be nullified immediately pending the authenticity of this video.

SeaDek strives to support conservation-minded anglers, and we would like to emphasize that the actions of those like the anglers in this video are not tolerated by our company, and in no way reflect the values of SeaDek.

We are fishermen, surfers, boaters, and lovers of the outdoors, and displays of ignorance like this have absolutely no place in our community.

Thank You,

The SeaDek Team
