Position: Cost Accountant
Department: Accounting
Primary Role: Collect and analyze data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, fixed assets and labor. Oversee the reconciliation of the financial accounts of the business.

Primary Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES:
• Analyze changes in product design/process, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services to determine effects on costs and profitability
• Make estimates on new and proposed product costs
• Transact inventory adjustments
• Perform obsolete inventory analysis
• Maintain fixed assets
• Manage plant cycle count program
• Perform month end close of the General Ledger
• Conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle count program
• Perform reconciliations and analysis on selected balance sheet accounts
• Prepare journal entries
• Update continuous improvement and cost savings information
• Maintain daily financial summary
• Manage AP
• Assist COO with financial analysis and report preparation
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other special projects as instructed
• Assist with implementation of SAP and maintain cost accounting system

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:
• 3 or more years of Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Job costing or process costing experience
• Significant cost accounting experience required, preferably in manufacturing
• SAP Experience a plus, but not required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required
