There may not be a more iconic fishing organization in the world than the West Palm Beach Fishing Club. Founded in 1934, the WPBFC is among the oldest and most successful fishing clubs anywhere. With a current membership of nearly 1400 people, beyond their shared passion for Florida sport fishing, the club prides itself in taking an active role in conservation efforts, resource advocacy, and educational youth outreach programs.
Last month, SeaDek was a proud sponsor of the WPBFC’s annual awards BBQ and auction. Nearly 500 WPBFC members, families and friends gathered at the South Florida Fairgrounds in early November to celebrate the event. It was an evening complete with live music, delicious cooked-on-site BBQ, a silent auction and raffle, and angling award presentations.
A highlight of the evening was when they recognized their PeeWee members and awarded them all with trophies and a new Penn rod/reel combo. The WPBFC does more than just fish; they continue to produce meaningful community initiatives, many of which focus on introducing kids to fishing and engaging them in the outdoors.
